August Sales Tax Reports

The August sales tax allocations figures have been released by the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts.  The August allocations reflect sales taxes collected in June 2021.

BROWNWOOD

The City of Brownwood received $649,777.38, an increase of 6.39% over August of 2020.  Fiscal year-to-date (October 2020 through August 2021) Brownwood has received $5,886,787, an increase of 10.57% over the previous fiscal year-to-date.

The Brownwood Municipal Development District received an allocation in August of $208,083.60, an increase of 7.33% over August 2020.  Fiscal year-to-date for the BMDD is $1,899,338, an increase of 9.37% over the previous fiscal year-to-date.

EARLY

The City of Early received $1,203,367.32, a decrease of 11.55% from August of 2020.  Fiscal year-to-date the City of Early has received $2,512,885, a decrease of 8.78% from the previous fiscal year.

The Early Municipal Development District received $280,030.86 in August, a decrease of 20.75% from August 2020.  Fiscal year-to-date the Early MDD has received $705,415, a decrease of 12.45% from the previous fiscal year.

Early City Manager Tony Aaron explained that the large sales tax allocation received in August is industrial sales taxes, as a result of an audit collection from previous years.

BANGS

The City of Bangs received $20,965.22 in August, an increase of 3.20% over August 2020.  Fiscal year-to-date Bangs has received $190,754, an increase of 14.08% over the previous fiscal year.

The Bangs Municipal Development District received $2892.07 in August, an increase of 3.49% over August 2020.  Fiscal year-to-date the Bangs MDD has received $28,247, an increase of 18.15% over the previous fiscal year.
