Body Found Near Vine Street Underpass

Shortly before 9:00 am Monday, Brownwood Police were notified that railroad employees had discovered a body in a grassy area, near the railroad right of way and stairs adjacent to the Vine Street underpass.

According to Lt. Troy Carroll of the Criminal Investigation Division, the 55 year old man is from Brownwood and is believed to have passed away of natural causes. There was no criminal activity and he had not been struck by a train.
