Brownwood News – Jennifer Gwathmey, East Elementary Music teacher brought her select choir over to BHS to rehearse with BHS A Cappella choir on Tuesday, May 21. Ms. Gwathmey auditioned many students from 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade to be a part of this select choir. “They sounded great and were so well behaved,” said BHS Choir teacher, Jennifer Reeves. “The BHS Choir students were impressed with their sound.”

The BHS Spring Choir Concert is a combined choir concert with all of the high school choirs combined. The theme this year is “All Around the World” with pieces from America, South Africa, France, Israel, and Jamaica.

“All of the songs are performed a cappella except one piece,” said Reeves. “And a few of our songs will have some percussion accompaniment with three of our BHS Band members, Laurel Glass, Kaya Cox, and Oscar Ledezma.”

The Spring Choir Concert is Thursday, May 23 at 6:30 p.m. at the Dorothy McIntosh Auditorium at BHS.
