leapinglionThe Brownwood Lions baseball team played the Snyder Tigers at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene on Thursday evening, their first game without teammate Billy Jones who passed away last weekend in a motor vehicle accident.   A plant was presented to Brownwood High School Baseball Coach Herb Rios from the Snyder Tigers to give to the Jones’ family as an offering of their sympathy.

The game began with Justin Osteen on the mound.  Snyder was able to score 1 run in the first inning and four more in the second for a 4-0 lead.

Carson McAnally took the mound in the bottom of the second.  Snyder was still able to score another run bringing the score to 5-0.

Snyder continued to score, getting two more runners home in the third and four more in the fourth inning.

The Tigers would keep the lead of 11-0 into the 5th and final inning of the game.

The Lions finish pre-district play with 6-11 record and head into their district opener at home against Liberty Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
