Weekly Gas Price Report: Fuel Prices Show Slight Drop

Sunday, 04 October 2009 21:10 | Written by Ray Tipton | PDF | Print | E-mail
Gas Price Report

gasprices10_4_09Gasoline prices across the state dropped about a nickle per gallon for regular unleaded compared to last week.  Gasbuddy.com is reporting that regular unleaded gas in Texas is selling for an average of $2.24 per gallon.

In Brownwood, the drop was very slight.  The low price per gallon on Sunday for regular unleaded was $2.23 which is about a two cent drop from last week.  Almost every gas station in Brownwood & Early is selling regular unleaded for under the $2.30 per gallon mark with very few exceptions.  One convenient store was found to still be at $2.39 which is the high end of the price range for now.

According to INO.com, oil and wholesale gasoline prices were slightly up from this time last week.  A report was released during the week stating that oil inventories were up while gasoline inventories were down a bit causing wholesale fuel prices to spike on Thursday, but give up much of those gains the very next day.

Weekly Gas Price Report: Gasoline Takes A Sharp Drop

Sunday, 27 September 2009 19:43 | Written by Ray Tipton | PDF | Print | E-mail
Gas Price Report

gasprices9_27_09Residents in Brownwood & the surrounding area probably noticed a significant drop in fuel prices this past week.

Regular unleaded prices are between $2.39 - $2.25 per gallon with the majority of gas stations below the $2.30 mark.  Prices have not been this low since mid-July and this may not be the end of the price slide.

Oil prices and wholesale gasoline prices tumbled during the week with oil closing at $66.59 per barrel in Friday according to INO.com taking about a $4 drop for the week.  Wholesale gas prices also took a tumble.  Much of the decline is due to a report issued by the US Department of Energy last week showing low demand for fuel while supplies in most areas are high.
